 Real life has thrown a wrench into my week. So first, my sincere apologies for my tardiness, and second...

Congratulations to the Doctor Who and Twilight fans for their fantastic showing during the Support Stacie Author Auction, and to all of the other fandoms who participated and helped to raise such an incredible amount of money, including my Office friends who dove in for the first time.

A big shout out to my pal wiggiemomsi  who did an excellent job in rallying the troops. We had a blast playing with you guys in the weeks leading up to the auction and during the auction itself. As I told gioiamia , I have never been so happy to get my butt kicked as I was this weekend. You guys rock!

Now, wiggiemomsi , I know that you are probably sad that I won't get to finish my fabulous DOCTOR Who/Gilmore Girls crossover, but I thought that I would bring it over here for your reading pleasure so that you can gaze upon it longingly and remember the brief shining moment when you owned a piece of  the Mags ;)

I should feel a little tense, right? A little uptight, perhaps. My OCD and inherent competitiveness should be kicking into overdrive, but for some reason it's not.

DOCTOR Who is kicking our butts.

Twilight is kicking all of our butts.

I've never been so damn happy to have my ass kicked. This auction is fantastic. I don't think I can express fully what this means to me. For once, I am at a loss for words.

Don't worry, they'll come back. They always do. But, I look at this icon of me and Pooh, and then I look at the totals from the first night of bidding, and all I can do is blink back the tears in my eyes.

Let me stick my ass out a little further. You can kick away!

The Harry Potter people are already talking smack about beating us. Personally, I don't care if they do as long as we raise some $$ for Pooh, but it's always fun to mess with them.

Now, I know that some of the bids are a little steep for many people. They are definitely too rich for my blood, but if you want to help our friend Pooh, you still can. The Support Stacie site at supportstacie.net/ has this lovely little button on the right that says 'donate'.

I am asking that if you have ever whiled away an afternoon reading and enjoying any of the fics written by any of the authors participating, please make a small contribution to help Pooh kick cancer's butt. Every little bit helps, and Pooh needs all of our help at this time.

A Fanfic-On-Demand fundraiser is in the works for friends of Stacie (That's truelovepooh  to you and me).  The gist of the project is that authors in any fandom are invited to write a short fic on demand. The highest bidder gets to deliver the fic challenge to the author they’ve “won,” along with the story’s pairing, the rating, and other pertinent details (within reason and within the author’s stated fandom and limitations - i.e., some authors prefer not to write smut).  The author will be given up to 30 days to finish the fic, beginning with the day that payment is received.  Details will be forthcoming, but if you are interested in being one of the authors, please let me know!  This will be a fun project designed to challenge the author and entertain their fans while raising money for a great cause.  

I'm already in. You'll see me on the auction block, and I hope to see you there too!
